Source links are a product feature

A citation should take a reader to information that supports a specific claim. A link to a large folder or a generic landing page often leaves the verification work unfinished.

Design the evidence view with the answer. Show a useful excerpt, record identifier or time period where appropriate, and respect the same permissions as the original source. If the source is inaccessible to the reader, do not imply they can verify it.

Test a few important claims manually. A nicely formatted reference list is not evidence that retrieval and attribution worked.
